A Jury of One
It is time once again
The trials commence
The body grows hot, rigid
and tense
To be blessed with release
or to be undone
Before this judge and jury
and headsman of one
Difficult to decide
which fate to embrace
To give up a breath
or abandon a chase
To return to the air
or to dust and bone
Each is a path
to a world all it's own
To be absolved
or else to be riven
The decision is made
The verdict is given
